The Rest of the Story

Before I formed you in the belly I knew you, and before you came out of the womb I sanctified you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations. (Yeremiahu 1:5)
A mother in a delivery with a high temperature, waits to deliver a premature baby. The doctor comes in with the grim news. In order to save your life you must have an abortion otherwise you will die.
A young woman gets brutally raped and becomes pregnant as a result. What should she do? What would you do?
There are people both famous and not who were born out of rape and other forms of abuse. I am not condoning the actions of rape, etc because those actions are absolutely wrong. I am stating that the child produced from the abuse has a reason to live.
Solomon was the child of King David and Bathsheba. David had sex with Bathsheba and had her husband killed. Not exactly the best of circumstances, but yet Solomon became king over Israel.
In the verse above God tells Jeremiah that he was known prior to conception and that he was set apart to be a prophet of God. Not every child is born to be a prophet, or a famous singer or actor, but each child, no matter what the circumstances, has a purpose to exist.
One more thing you should know. The mother in the delivery room was my mother and the premature baby, who was slated to die, was me. You see God had a purpose for my life. I thank my mother, who has since passed away, for making the decision to keep me.
You see, to quote Paul Harvey, now you know the rest of the story.
