What does the Hebrew title Maran means?

What does the Hebrew title Maran means? Maran means exalted Rabbi, in modern Hebrew means that this person is a Rabbi of Rabbis. This is the way Maran Yeshua is spoken in the Aramaic Peshita (The Aramaic Good News of Redemption), this term is also used frequently in the Talmud. Till today, the most prominent rabbis in Israel are called Maran, like Rabbi Ovadia Yosef. This is a very common term within the rabbinical world (The term is more prevalent among Sephardi Jews, but may also be used by Ashkenazim Ortodox Jews). The most common use of the term is in reference to "Maran Beth Yosef", Rabbi Yosef Karo. In fact, when used without further qualification, Maran usually refers to Rabbi Karo. Maran is often attributed to Rabbis who serve as founding heads of a particular ideological/cultural movement. Also Ben Elohim (son of God), means that this person [...]

We Stand with Israel

We Stand with Israel

Since September 2000, Israel and its citizens have been going through dark times. First, Homicide bombers were blowing themselves up (and by that taking lives of innocent civilians with them), and had become an overwhelming, frightening threat to the people of Israel. Then, rockets fired by Hamas from Gaza put hundreds of thousands of Israelis in s ...

The Pierced (Dakaru) Mashiach

The Pierced (Dakaru) Mashiach

The rabbis used to believe in a Messiah who would suffer and die, according to the prophets of Israel. The Talmud, for example, refers to a Messiah, Son of Joseph, who will be slain (Sukkah 52a). In presenting this concept of a Messiah who will be slain, the Talmudic rabbis refer to Zecharya 12:10.  וְשָׁפ&# ...

The Mask of the Marranos Jews

The Mask of the Marranos Jews

The creation of the modern state of Israel has awakened many dormant cultural pursuits, perhaps none so dramatic as the discovery of long-lost Jews. Every decade or so, another tribe of supposed descendants of biblical Israel—marked by quirky uses of Jewish symbols, eclectic religious observance, and a smattering of Hebrew prayers — is ...

Offering New Alternatives to Homosexuality

Offering New Alternatives to Homosexuality

Most probable theory on why humans could become homosexuals is because of families without a father or a mother. A boy that’s raised only by a mother will have nobody to take men traits from. Very often if the father has been absent from the family life for longer periods, the guy might simply become very girly which may result in his attract ...

I Am A Zionist

I Am A Zionist

At a time where Zionism is defamed and slandered, this article sets out the truth. I am a Zionist. I believe that the Jewish people established itself in the Land of Israel, albeit somewhat late. Had it listened to the alarm clock, there would have been no Holocaust, and my dead grandfather – the one I was named after – would have been ...

Regarding Semantics

Regarding Semantics

"Jesus was a good Christian boy who went to church every sunday" We might as well begin with a Before/After kind of test in which you, the reader, are its main protagonist. How many mistakes can you spot on the top of this article? Most believers will spot three; only those "in the know" will catch the fourth one. Try it yoursel ...

The Footsteps of the Mashiach

The Footsteps of the Mashiach

One of the signs of our times is increasing crime everywhere. In America this has been a problem for quite some time, but today it is also happening in Israel where common forms of crime include drug trafficking, money laundering, burglary, extortion, murder for hire, fraud, car theft, human trafficking, corruption, and black marketeering. – ...

For Your salvation we do long

Mashiach is the hope of Israel, not just a hope, but what the whole Hebrew Scriptures point to.  Every working day we pray a prayer called “Et tzemach David” / “The sprout of David” We ask our G-d to bring the Mashiach soon in our days. We ask our God that His Yeshuah / Salvation come quick, (We ask for the Mashiach to ...

The Jewishness of Mashiach

The Jewishness of Mashiach

One of the biggest barriers preventing a Jewish person from believing in our Rabbi Maran Yeshua is the mistaken assumption that if he believes in Rabbi Maran Yeshua HaMashiach, he will no longer be Jewish.  We emphasize again and again that our Rabbi Maran Yeshua is Jewish, his Hashluchim (the Emissaries) were Jewish, the Torat HaShlichim (Tea ...
