Practicing Tzedakah / Charity

Giving may seem like a sacrifice at times  (especially when money is tight) or we often wonder if the person we give to is worthy or really needs our help, but in reality being charitable to others does more for us, for our relationships with G-d and with our fellow human beings than it does to the people who we give to. Jewish people are renowned for being generous when it comes to charitable giving. The Hebrew word for charity is “tzedaka”. The word Tzedakah means righteousness, justice or fairness. Doing tzedaka, often translated as €œjustice€ or €œcharity€, is incumbent on all Believers according to the Torah. Usually doing tzedaka involves putting a few coins in a tzedaka box. Our Sages, teach us that there is a lot more to this mitzva than meets the eye. Don Isaac Abarbanel served as finance minister to Ferdinand and Isabella prior [...]

Jesus vs Yeshua, To Tell the Truth!!

Jesus vs Yeshua, To Tell the Truth!!

There was a game show many years ago called “To Tell the Truth”. It was a show that had one real person and three other imposters pretending to be the same person. The panel would ask questions and then try and determine the true one from the imposters. That is the argument made by Jews and anti-missionaries who try to dissuade Jews fro ...

Shine What? Can Holiness show the way?

Shine What? Can Holiness show the way?

Kedusha (holiness) is the theme opening again for this portion. Twice Moshe speaks, about this lifestyle required of them. A lifestyle with more required and more restrictions than the rest of the Israelites. The priests and high priests were more than just religious figures performing roles. They stood in for the people, made korbanot (sacrifices, ...

Messianic Jewish Emuna: Disciples of Abraham

Messianic Jewish Emuna: Disciples of Abraham

Abraham did not need the scrolls of the Torah to tell him how to fulfill Hashem’s will. Generations before Mount Sinai, he was already living a Divinely directed life: “You hear My voice and keep My observances, My commandments, My laws and My Torah” (Bereishis 26:5). (Sefer Ahavas Chesed: Part III Chapter II Abrahams Way) “ ...

Maran Yeshua the Pharisee

Maran Yeshua the Pharisee

History and the Bible show that our holy Rabbi, Maran Yeshua identified Himself as a Perush (Pharisee). The Perushim were the "party of the people". There were different parties, the Saducees and the Essenes just to name a couple.  Fisherman and carpenters were Perushim. How does this prove Yeshua was a Perushim? Well, Yeshua di ...

For Religion or for God (Part #2)

For Religion or for God (Part #2)

Continuing from where we left off, I have a few Jewish friends who I believed to be true seekers of HaShem, but when I wiggled down to the root they were interested in nothing more than religion, they have no seasoning, not even salt in which to inspire others with they are but die bones. On my quest of conversion I found that Rabbi Yeshua truly is ...

Mashiach and Teshuvah

Mashiach and Teshuvah

Jewish tradition states that Mashiach Tzidkeinu (our righteousness) will bring the righteous to the service of Teshuvah (doing commandments of God). This seems to be puzzling for we normally associate the service of Teshuva with those who are far from righteous. Why will the righteous need to do Teshuvah in the times of Mashiach? The answer is quit ...
