Chevlei Mashiach – Birthpangs of the Messiah

חבל משיח  “Chevlei Mashiach” means the “Birthpangs of the Messiah.” Messianic Judaism (All Judaism is by theory Messianic) teaches that the arrival of Mashiach is accompanied by birth pangs. This is also sometimes referred to as the “Time of Jacob’s Trouble.” Jewish writings often refer to the birthpangs of Mashiach - Chevlei Mashiach. These birthpangs are the corporate suffering of the Jewish people and of the Messiah who sits at the right hand of the Father and cries with us until the time of the final redemption comes. Only our Father in heaven knows the time and hour of Mashiach’s coming. We are now at the conclusion of the Galut (exile). We have been through the labors of beirurim - (sifting) and refining with all their attendant trials. Moreover, we have been through some of the "birthpangs of Mashiach," those awesome events that have taken place in our generation (Israel as Nation, Jerusalem as its capital, Sanhedrin established, the war in Iraq, etc). It is now clear and obvious that we are standing at the threshold of the Redemption. Like Yosef and His brothers, Maran Rabbeinu Yeshua HaMashiach has been kept hidden from His brethren until the appointed time. Our holy Rabbi has been made king in a Gentile world that has changed his name, identity and appearance. Yet like Yosef, all this will have been for the purpose...

Can I Be Jewish and Believe in Yeshua?

If I believe in Maran Rabbeinu Yeshua as the Messiah, won't I lose my Jewishness?  No you won't! HaShem made you Jewish and no one can ever change that, regardless of what people say. You are still a descendant of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Besides, the real question is, "Is Maran Rabbeinu Yeshua the Jewish Messiah?" If he really is ...

The Karaite Deception

The Karaite Deception

After studying the Karaite movement, we have determined that it’s primary aim in sharing its theology with Messianic Jews, is to get it to legitimize its authority over them, by attacking orthodox Judaism’s authority on matter of halacha, especially the moedim, and to establish itself as the rightful interpreters and authority on scrip ...

Messianic Judaism – The Doctrinal Dilemma

Messianic Judaism – The Doctrinal Dilemma

There is a saying in English which we call the KISS method.  Keep It Simple Stupid.  It means that when we are trying to explain something we should keep it at a very basic level so that everyone can understand. I believe that this must also apply to the situation of doctrines and beliefs.  The harder we make it for people to unders ...

Real Messianic Judaism

Real Messianic Judaism

This article is an attempt to express my thoughts on a “definition” of Messianic Judaism. As with many things, this “definition” requires that I explain what I believe Messianic Judaism is not before I tell you a little bit about what I think Messianic Judaism is. It is necessary that I say a word here about the “Mess ...

Prepare Yourself for Shavuot (Videos)

Prepare Yourself for Shavuot (Tuesday, 6 Sivan 5771 | June 8, 2011) Shavuot is a wonderful time of remembering God’s gift of Torah on Mount Sinai! Tradition dictates an all-night Torah study, dairy products, and rejoicing. This is also one of the Feasts where God welcomes all people (male + female) in Yerushalyim, and mandates that all Isrea ...

The Jewish Messiah – Zaphnath pa’aneach

The Jewish Messiah - Zaphnath pa'aneach

Many words in the Hebrew language have a complex and twisted history. Sometimes one of the paths along which the word marched is blocked, but then another opens along which it continues its existence. This is probably the case with "Zaphnath pa'aneach", a name which appears only once in the Bible: "And Pharaoh called Joseph by the n ...
