(Yeremiyahu 46: 27-28) Last week we read of the first seven of the ten plagues. This week we read of the remaining three plagues. Now we know the number seven represents completion such as Shabbat being the day of rest after the world was created. What is the significance of the last three plagues? The number three has much significance in Judaism. The three Patriarchs: Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The Bible has 3 sections: Torah, Prophets, and Writings. Shimon Hatzaddik taught: "On three things the world stands: On Torah, on prayer, and on acts of kindness" (Pirkei Avot 1:2).
