The False Messiah Armilus (Video)

In later Jewish eschatology and legend, a king who will arise at the end of time against the Messiah, and will be conquered by him after having brought much distress upon Israel. Parasha Ve’zot Haberacha, Devarim 34 says “and the affliction of generation after generation, and the punishment of Armalgos the wicked…” In ancient Jewish literature, the Anti-Christ (Greek term) or False/Psuedo Messiah (Aramaic term) was called "Armilus". "Armilus (Hebrew: ארמילוס‎)" is a Hebrew version of "Romulus", put in future form, to indicate that he would rule from Rome. Targum Yonathan translates Isaiah / Yesha’yah 11:4 into Aramaic with the following paraphrase: "and with the speech of his lips he [Messiah] will slay the wicked Armilus. " In the Midrash Pirkei-Ha-Mashiach (8th century CE) the False Messiah is called,  "Satan Armilus, whom the Gentiles call Antichrist" It is interesting that main line judaism disagree with believers on the [...]

The Korban Todah (Pesach)

The Korban Todah (Pesach)

The Korban Todah (offering of thanksgiving) of a Nation. The special laws of the korban Pesach (offering of Passover) can be understood in a similar manner, for it too is an offering of thanksgiving – not for a personal case of redemption, but rather for our national redemption. Let’s review the special laws of the korban Pesach to show ...

Become like our Rabbi Yeshua

Become like our Rabbi Yeshua

One of the Sages from the Mishnah is quoted as this, "May you be covered in the dust of your Rabbi." Rabbis are passionate and animated. They would spend their days taking their disciples around teaching them, and as they traveled from place to place, they would literally kick up a cloud of dust. And because the disciples were following t ...

Who needs an idol?

Who needs an idol?

What is Avoda Zara (Idol worship)? Idol worship is not just a plastic Mary on the dashboard of a taxi in Mexico city.  Idol worship is coming into the presence of a holy God on your own terms, not on God’s terms. Doing what you want because your god loves you and changes His standards as you go along.  Idol worship is placing your f ...

Passover Seder 101 (Videos)

Passover Seder 101 (Videos)

At Pesach many people are invited to family gatherings but there is no reason why you cannot do it yourself should you find you are "it". The good news is that you may already have the "manual" or can buy one – the Haggadah normally tells you what to do as you go along. However here are a few tips: Firstly do not worry too ...

Passover Invitation (Videos)

Passover Invitation (Videos)

A Passover Seder involves the whole family. It’s an evening filled with stories and symbols to celebrate a Festival of Freedom from slavery in Egypt. Our Rabbi, Maran Yeshua later turned these promises of Israel’s deliverance to a message of deliverance from our own slavery to sin. It is a telling witness to what He has done and is doin ...

Take up your cross daily?

Take up your cross daily?

How Jewish is that? Do you think this saying is very Jewish? Does it have a Jewish connotation? Believe it or not, this passage has been misunderstood completely. This passage is all about taking the mantle of leadership, not about dying crucified, or expecting one day as a martir, or even wearing a cross. We read in the Book of Uri / Luke 9 (23-25 ...

We need a Jewish World Leader!

We need a Jewish World Leader!

Would we have a Jewish world leader? If this question were asked of the people of this planet, the most likely answer would be: "Why ask such a foolish question?" After all, the Jews comprises only one percent of the world’s population. Israel is considered a non-entity by most of the world’s inhabitants. So, if one should tak ...
