Jerusalem and the world to come

The Mishkan (Tabernacle) or even the Beit HaMikdash (Temple) gives us a picture of the different ages that we have in the history of mankind. This are:

1- The world (outside the Mishkan), this age is represented by Yemot Tohu (desolation, speaks about being lost and without God).  A world of which Adam, Enoch, Noach, or the evil Nimrod (the sun worshiper) belonged to.

2- The court (the place in the Mikdash, where Korbanot are preformed) this age is represented by Yemot HaTorah (Instruction, we learn of God). When HaShem revealed Himself to Avraham, or when the revelation of Torah happened in the Sinai in written form.

3- The Holy place, before the Holy of Holies, where the priesthood has fellowship with God, this age is represented by Yemot HaMashiach (The days of the Messiah, we grow in knowledge of God, which is today’s age). This is the era that King Messiah Yeshua came (this according to Daniel 9:25-26). This is the logical place of Mashiach’s arrivial, since Yemot HaMashiach must include Mashiach himself!

4- The Holy of Holies, where man has a full revelation of God. This age is represented by Athid Lavo = the Messianic era, when Mashiach is the King, ruling from Jerusalem. This is the era when Mashiach will teach us Torah from Zion, and the Word of HaShem go forth from Jerusalem. This era is usually confused with the era to come, which is not fully revealed, which is the Olam Haba.

5- The Olam Haba is represented by the number eight, which signifies new beginnings, does not have within it the Tabernacle, nor the Beti HaMikdash, since the Holy Scriptures, not Jewish tradition places these two buildings within it. This is where the New Jerusalem, comes to rest. All things come back to its perfect state, where the lion and the lamb lie together. Where the reset bottom takes us back. Incidentally the New Yerushalayim which is called “Yerushalayim shel ma’ala” is the same shape as the Holy of Holies

The Olam Haba is outside time, where eternity and the Eternal One co-exist. This is out final place, where believers in King Messiah will have their new life to the fullest.
