I Stand With Israel

I Stand With Israel

You may have noticed that we have added a small corner banner to our website regarding our support with the land and people of Israel. While Beth HaDerech is not a political organization, this small banner simply shows our support for the Jewish people, our people, our alliance to the people of Israel for their land.

The banner mentions Genesis 12:3. Here’s Genesis 12:1-3 for context:

1 The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you. 2 "I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."

But what if you are not Jewish? You may ask: Why should Christians stand with the people of Israel? Well for a start Maran Yeshua, our Rabbi is/was a Jew and more importantly God selected the Jewish people to be his chosen people and gave the land of Israel to them as an eternal gift. God has not, and will not, abandon them, nor break His promises to them. Israel is the first born of God, He does not forget it, nor should we.

Remember: When Israel is attacked, we are attacked. The bible says concerning those who stand with Israel:

I will bless you and make your descendants into a great nation. You will become famous and be a blessing to others. I will bless anyone who blesses you, but I will put a curse on anyone who puts a curse on you. Everyone on earth will be blessed because of you.
(Gen 12:2-3)

(A song by David for worship.) It made me glad to hear them say, “Let’s go to the house of the LORD!” Jerusalem, we are standing inside your gates. Jerusalem, what a strong and beautiful city you are! Every tribe of the LORD obeys him and comes to you to praise his name. David’s royal throne is here where justice rules. Jerusalem, we pray that you will have peace, and that all will go well for those who love you. May there be peace inside your city walls and in your palaces. Because of my friends and my relatives, I will pray for peace. And because of the house of the LORD our God, I will work for your good. (Psa 122:1-9)

If you want to support Hezbollah, Hamas, Fata, Al Qaeda, etc… they already have a ticket to hell. President Obama Hussein along many anti-Semites in the world say it is time to divide Jerusalem: No, Mr. President, nor people of the world, it’s not the time to divide Israel, it is the time to stand for Israel. The land of Israel did not voted for you President Hussein for him to come to dictate what Israel should or should not do; nor any one outside Israel has the right to dictate the only democratic government in the middle east what to do.

If you want people to know where you stand concerning the current effort on the part of Israel to defend herself from the Islamic terrorist groups like Hezbollah, Hamas, Fata, Al Qaeda, etc.. I’ve pick up a corner banner you can display.

Some thoughts: When a sovereign nation gets urge into war by terrorist attacks upon civilians, its goal should be to destroy the terrorist infrastructure and kill as many terrorists as possible. The best way to do that is to attack with overwhelming force. Yes there will be civilian casualties, although Israel, like the United States, takes care to avoid excessive collateral damage (unlike the atrocity-seeking Islamic jihadists who deliberately target civilians, and who use their own people as human shields by mingling their fighters with civilians).

In contrast, the government of Israel targets Islamic terrorist military installations through precision strikes to prevent civilian deaths.

Civilians die in any war, and it’s tragic. But if Palestinians want to safeguard their civilian population, they need to start by taking control of their own territory and creating a government that will crush the terrorists, rather than a government operated by the terrorists. Hamas is to blame for the terrible suffering of the Gazans. Hamas fires rockets at Israeli cities from within civilian population centers and even uses Palestinian women and children as human shields when fighting Israeli soldiers. Remember citizens of the world, the Arab people living in occupied Israeli lands (aka Palestine) voted for Hamas to be their ruling party, so we know who the Palestinians are standing for.

The Bible commands us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6), to speak out for Zion’s sake (Isaiah 62:1), to be watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem (Isaiah 62:6) and to bless the Jewish people (Genesis 12:3).
