Tehellim 2:7 I will tell of the Chok (decree)… 2:12 Kiss the son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath will soon-be-kindled. Blessed are all those who take refuge in him.

We need to understand that with regard to the question of logic versus faith, we have to realize that in the Hebrew Bible, logic and faith always work together. In the Hebrew Bible we encounter that we need to consider all things in the plain sense, in the practical level.? But also we need to consider that Faith (which is a Chok / Statute) is a higher level of relationship with our Creator. We understand what we can, but we also have to know that above all else, there is faith, and that God reveals and conceals things from those He chooses. As it is written in Devarim (Deuteronomy) 29:29 The secret things belong to HaShem our God; but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this Torah. This is reflected in the meaning of the word in Hebrew for Chok (Statute) Every mitzvah has a purpose that adds meaning to our lives (believing and learning about Mashiach is a Mitzvah “commandment” above all others). The rationale of the Chok, however, is kept from us, demanding our unquestioned commitment, regardless of whether or not we understand it. The Chok is a continuous reminder of the authority of the mitzvah and our obligation to observe it because it comes from the word of God. When our ancestors were introduced to the Torah, their response was, “Naaseh venishma.” Naaseh, first and foremost, we will accept and observe the Torah. Then venishma, we will commit ourselves to study and understand it.

As we read more concerning Yeshua Melech HaMashiach (King Messiah), in all the passages of the Bible which deal with the person of Mashiach, we begin to discover who He really is, and what He is not.

R’ Aharon writes that the Gemara in Beitza 16a. explains that the word Chok also means portion. HaShem decides what everyone’s portion will be for the entire year on Yom Terua / Rosh Hashana (the seventh Month of the Hebrew Year). This applies, however, only to His Servants, who accept His Malchut (Kingdom) because they love Him. The rest of the world however receives Mishpat (judgment), they are judged according to their merits (according to their work, which according to the Hebrew Scriptures are as filthy Rags!). We might add that Chok also means a decree without reason. The Kli Yakar explains, that when one sees the Chukim (pl) that do make a certain amount of sense, one’s failure to understand the meaning of a particular Chok is not the fault of their Creator, but simply a lacking of understanding by the perceiver. Yeshayahu 52:7-5312

Waiting for Mashiach

Waiting for Mashiach, anticipating His coming, is not simply a virtue but a religious obligation. Rambam thus rules that whoever does not believe in — and whoever does not eagerly looking forward to — the coming of Mashiach, in effect denies the whole Torah, all the prophets beginning with Moses.

Melech Mashiach

If these words make you uncomfortable then probably you may have a wrong idea of who Mashiach is. In times like the present, when the many people by and large enjoy prosperity, security, and happiness, why do we need Mashiach? We are living well; we are studying the Torah and keeping His commandments. What will Mashiach add? The Hebrew Bible says: “man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.” God said He was bringing Mashiach, and that He is to be our final redeemer. He is the one who reveals God in His fullness to all those who seek Him (through Mashiach’s eyes!). READ your Scriptures. It may be the best thing you ever do.

A) Revelation, B) Concealment, C) Final full revelation

Rashi commenting on Daniel 12:12, writes: “The Moshiach will reveal himself and then be concealed and then be revealed once more, and so it says in the Midrash on Ruth and in the poems of Rabbi Eliezer HaKalir”. As we see it here there are three stages in the revelation of Mashiach; a) revelation, b) concealment, c) final full revelation.” All of them require full Emuna in Melech HaMashiach. Our holy Rabbi, Maran Yeshua is that promised Mashiach!

Mashiach and Teshuva (Repentance)

Mashiach will bring the righteous to the service of Teshuva (repentance). This seems to be puzzling for we normally associate the service of Teshuva with those who are far from righteous. Why will the righteous need to do Teshuva in the times of Mashiach? According to the Tanach, Mashiach will suffer the price for our sins, and we will see Him, the pierced one, then we’ll all do Teshuva. Zecharaya 12:10, Yeshayahu 53.5

Birthpangs of the Messiah

Chevlei Mashiach means the “?Birthpangs of the Messiah.” Messianic Judaism teaches that the arrival of Mashiach is accompanied by birth pangs (All Judaism is by theory Messianic). This is also sometimes referred to as the Time of Jacob’s Trouble. The time appointed by God for the Messianic redemption is a closely guarded secret. Nonetheless, we are offered many hints to recognize its proximity: when certain conditions come about, await the imminent coming of Mashiach. We believe it is close at hand!

Mashiach Now

Many people want “Mashiach Now.” Yet when it comes to the hard facts of true faith in Mashiach, they want their religious ideas rather then change their concept of who Mashiach is. I do not mean to change the Torah, but to change their mindset, the way they view Yeshua as Mashiach, the way they think of our Rabbi, Maran Yeshua as Mashiach, and everything else that goes along with it (having true Emuna / Faith). Would you have true Emuna in Him?
