La iglesia cristiana incitaba al odio y los reyes cristianos los abrumaban con impuestos "especiales" , hasta que todo culminaría con el decreto de expulsión, la conversión forzada o la muerte. Los judíos que se quedaron, tuvieron que sobrevivir, muchas veces en silencio, ocultándose a cada instante de las miradas inquisitoriales de sus vecinos, las denuncias y finalmente los tribunales del "santo oficio".
